The title “Lord” was given to men who owned land in many societies like Old England. The term “Lord” basically has the same meaning when we refer to Jesus Christ as Lord.

A person has true inner liberty, peace, and security when you make Jesus “Lord” of your live. This means that you are willing to give Jesus (God) permission to control your life and give you direction on how to live your life.

There are people who respect Jesus as their Lord. They understand that Jesus is God and they even pray in His name. They may even perform miracles in the name of Jesus. This is the awesome power associated with the name of Jesus because He is Lord and Creator of everything.

It is possible to respect Jesus as your Lord without accepting Jesus as your Savior. Remember – You must depend on the shed blood of Jesus as payment for your sin to spend eternity with Jesus (God). Your good works will not pay for your sin. Jesus must be your Savior as well as your Lord.
