Eternal Life by definition is life without an ending. This thought seems quite impossible from our point of view. God has a much different point of view and we need to consider His point of view.
Jesus said that God is Spirit and we must worship Him in Spirit and Truth. God’s point of view is a “spiritual” point of view. The Bible declares that the “physical” life is temporal or temporary. The “spiritual” life is “eternal” or does not end. To God the spiritual life is common, but strange to you and me.
As we allow ourselves to consider the “spiritual” side we allow God to show us His world and what lies ahead for us. Jesus and the Bible explain many things about “eternal life” with God (Heaven) and without God (Hell).
Eternal Life begins at the time of your creation (the moment God directs your father’s sperm to intersect your mother’s egg in the womb). At this point in your life you are righteous before God even though you have the inbred sinful nature passed down to you from your father. This is true because you do not have the capacity to sin (accept or reject God and his laws).
The moment you reject God is the moment you are separated from Him in the same way Adam and Eve were separated from God in the Garden of Eden. The age at which this occurs can vary greatly. God knows each person from their heart.
Only you and God know if you are trusting in the shed blood of Jesus Christ as payment for your sin. Remember – Trusting in a religious ritual or personal “good work” as payment for your sin is not acceptable before God.
